In order to install a new fire pump, the underground system needed modifications requiring thrust blocks. Client did not want the fire main system shut down for more than 24 hours.
Contractor was directed to construct a temporary by-pass for the existing underground system, so that the water supply could remain intact while waiting for the concrete thrust blocks to cure. By-pass was later used for the pump intake and discharge connection.
